Evie & Kyle | Wedding

Weddings are always such beautiful events to be a part of. As a photographer, they are full of moments that few get to witness- the mother laughing and telling stories with all of her daughters life-long friends while they get ready for the day, the groom when he sees his bride for the first time, the father leaning over and kissing his daughter on the cheek before they walk down the aisle. I could go on forever, and each wedding brings unique, new moments to light. The main thing that I think about when I think about Evie and Kyle’s wedding day is that way that Kyle looked at her. I noticed it all throughout the day, but then going back through these photos only confirmed my memory. They share such a raw, beautiful love. It was a true joy to capture it. I hope that you all enjoy this preview.

“Kyle and I met when I was 13 he was 14. We met from mutual friends. We started hanging out and eventually became boyfriend and girlfriend. We dated through high school and into our early college years.” - Evie

“I have always known Kyle was my person. After being together for almost 6 years we mutually decided to spend some time apart to grow on our own, and ended up back together a year after. When we both reached back out it was just like we knew we were meant to be.” - Evie

What is your favorite thing about each other?

“My favorite thing about Evie is how kind she is …. Sometimes. ;)” - Kyle

“My favorite thing about Kyle is that he loves like Jesus. He always makes sure that I’m taken care of and happy!” - Evie

“The best part about planning for wedding day was the anticipation and excitement we both felt the week of the wedding when we were running around making sure everything was ready to go!” - Evie

What was your favorite part of the wedding day?

“My favorite part of the day was just being able to look around and see every person we love being in the same room smiling and laughing.” - Evie

“The first look was my favorite part of the day.” - Kyle

“There were SO many people that made this day absolute bliss for Kyle and I. Our parents above anyone else. They gave us everything we ever wanted and more. None of this would have been possible without them. Kyle and I are both so blessed with such amazing family and friends. Our siblings: Clent, Chloe, and Kaylee have been so supportive, loving, and helpful through every possible wedding planning obstacle we faced. We are all truly just one big group of friends. I pray that it always stays that way no matter where life takes us.

My bridesmaids. These girls have been by my side through my entire life, but having them by my side on my wedding day meant more to me than they know. They each are special to me for all different reasons. Every single one of these girls made my wedding the most stress free and enjoyable experience. From steaming my dress, fixing my smeared make up, making sure I ate, to helping me go to the bathroom. They made me feel so important and loved. I am forever grateful for each of them.

To our groomsmen, thank you. You guys mean more to Kyle than you even realize. They took care of Kyle throughout our wedding day. Keeping Kyle calm and making sure he had a great time!

A HUGE thank you to Shelley Bates and Jill McDougal!!! My personal wedding directors. These ladies handled it all. I never thought about ceremony songs, who walks with who, where everyone stands, or when I walk out. They handled the entire ceremony for me. I am so thankful to have had both of them there. And not to mention, Jill made sure my nails and spray tan were absolute perfection per usual.

Cathy and Earl Rutledge, our lovely transportation. When Kyle and I left the ceremony and were headed to the reception, Cathy and Earl greeted us with a bunch of white balloons tied to the front of Earl’s truck. There were even ‘Just Married’ flags on each side of the truck. We just thought we were catching a ride, instead they gave us a memory we will never forget. They made us feel so special just to drive us 2 minutes down the road!

Chad Holder, he was more than just our ceremony officiant. We met with him several times before beginning our marriage. In all honesty Kyle and I didn’t want to have “marriage counseling”. The idea was awkward and uncomfortable to us. Chad required a few meetings before he could perform our ceremony. We wanted to get married, and we wanted Chad to marry us. So, we did it. Chad is such a real life person. He is the perfect example of God’s word. The way Chad can grab your attention and keep you interested in what he is saying is amazing. He keeps things funny, but real. He wants nothing more than for everyone to know Jesus loves them. Kyle and I will forever be grateful that God crossed our paths with Chad. He gave us advice and council that we will take with us for the rest of our lives. God gave him an amazing gift, and I am so blessed that he has helped start our marriage off the exact way God intended.

And last, but not least … Uh hello MACKENZIE RUE. Mackenzie was on the ball. I never had to worry about a thing. She knew where to take pictures and exactly what poses for us to use. Kyle and I both felt completely comfortable when having our pictures taken (which is not always our case). Mackenzie is a natural. She took care of everything there was to take care of. She is amazing in every way!!!” - Evie

What are you most excited about now that you two are finally husband and wife?

“We are most excited about starting our lives together. To know we will always have each other to rely on through whatever life throws at us. Kyle is my best friend and knowing that I am getting to spend the rest of my life with him gives me butterflies. I am so blessed I just can’t believe it!” - Evie

Lord,

I pray that You bless Evie and Kyle’s forever union with Your Peace and Patience. I pray that they live a life filled with making memories together and exploring this Love that You gave us. Thank You for the gift of Love. Thank You for guiding Kyle and Evie to each other at such a young age so that they have been able to enjoy this much of life together already. Bless them with an even more exciting marriage. I can’t wait to see what You do with this union.

Amen.
